About Dr. Blackman

Originally from Alberton, Montana, Dr. Blackman earned his medical degree from the University of Washington ​School of Medicine, graduating with honors, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He also completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Additionally, Dr. Blackman is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Dr. Blackman has extensive experience serving as a team physician for various high school, amateur, college and professional sports teams. His areas of expertise include injuries and disorders of the shoulder, elbow, knee and hip. He specializes in minimally invasive and reconstructive orthopedic surgeries, including anterior approach hip replacement and robotic-assisted knee and hip replacement surgery using the Mako® system.
